Our history and future

Eric Mercier is the sole owner and gunsmith at Mercier Pistol Works. Eric retired from law enforcement while during his tenure he carried a 1911. Along the way, Eric met Bob Marvel and Joe Chambers (Joe was studying under Bob at that time). Eric and Joe became friends and eventually, after retiring from law enforcement, Eric went to work for Joe at Chambers Custom Pistols. Eric spent 5 years building pistols to the Bob Marvel specifications under the instruction and supervision of Joe.

With the establishment of Mercier Pistol Works on 17th of May 2023, Eric is now pushing forward with his mission to provide hard working folks top quality pistols for much less money and time then waiting for a custom pistol. 

Focusing on clients' existing pistols by providing full rebuilds, as well as a performance based enhancement packages and custom work, means that Eric can get you a very accurate and absolutely reliable pistol from your existing pistol in much less time with much less cost than waiting on a full custom build. Eric also takes some time each year to build and sell a very limited number of one-off custom builds for those clients that want the ultimate in one-off excellence!
